AGAINST ME! TRANSGENDER DYSPHORIA BLUES OUT JANUARY 21

Against Me! will release its much-anticipated sixth full-length studio album titled Transgender Dysphoria Blues on Tuesday, January 21 on their own label, Total Treble (Resist Records will release in Australia). Transgender Dysphoria Blues is the intense follow-up to the band’s previous full-length album, White Crosses, and stands as another major benchmark for the band and its career spanning 10+ years.

Recorded at Studio 606, Earth Sound Studio, Motor Studio, Total Treble Studio and mixed by Billy Bush (Garbage, Muse, Tegan and Sara), Transgender Dysphoria Blues is an insightful and highly-provocative 10-song offering written by frontwoman Laura Jane Grace, whose material examines one’s grappling with gender dysphoria, the loss of a young friend and pure self discovery, as well as love and ultimate acceptance. Featuring Grace’s signature, explicit songwriting and dominant vocals, the album also features longtime guitarist/vocalist James Bowman, drummer Atom Willard and Fat Mike of NOFX on bass for “FUCKMYLIFE666” and “Unconditional Love.” Transgender Dysphoria Blues will be supported with a full North American tour in 2014. The World Media Awards and Event

The World Media Awards and Event will take place on February 25^th 2012 at the San Francisco. Some very familiar faces showed up that night, and I’m happy I got to share my excitement with all of them!
Four years in the making, NEÜ SEX includes my visual mosaic through photography, my sexual philosophy, and observations. I’d just like to say thank you to every individual who has supported me from day one, you are truly my shining stars. If you had not listened, if you weren’t interested, this book would not exist. I’ll forever be grateful, and humbled by your outpouring of support. This book is dedicated to you."

Cold Cave | The Great Pan is Dead

This is the first song on the forthcoming COLD CAVE full-length, Cherish the Light Years. It was also the first song Wes Eisold  wrote after the group of songs that makes up Love Comes Close and it existed in some half-finished way in my head for almost two years. It had to be the first song on the album and serve as a declaration of everything I want to assert through Cold Cave.

R.I.P. White Stripes

 The White Stripes are no more. The band’s label, Third Man, issued the following statement at 5.30pm today:

“The reason is not due to artistic differences or lack of wanting to continue, nor any health issues as both Meg and Jack are feeling fine and in good health. It is for a myriad of reasons, but mostly to preserve what is beautiful and special about the band and have it stay that way.”

 Jack and Meg White added a few words of their own: “The White Stripes do not belong to Meg and Jack anymore. The White Stripes belong to you now and you can do with it whatever you want. The beauty of art and music is that it can last forever if people want it to. Thank you for sharing this experience. Your involvement will never be lost on us and we are truly grateful.”
