BERLEI Presents ' THE CHRISSY BRA'
In tribute to rock luminary, Chrissy Amphlett of the Divinyls, who passed away from breast cancer in 2013, Berlei has partnered with the I Touch Myself Project to create The Chrissy Bra range comprised of two rock 'n' roll bras. With 100% of the profits going to Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), the Post-Surgery bra has been designed for women who have undergone breast cancer surgery and the T-Shirt bra reminds women to touch themselves to take their breast health into their own hands, get to know their breasts and make self-examination a routine part of their lives.
Chrissy Amphlett rocked our world. The Aussie frontwoman of the Divinyls, paved the way for strong, sexy, outspoken women everywhere. In 2013, she passed away after a courageous battle fighting both breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.
I Touch Myself was the Divinyls' most recognized song and touched millions of fans around the globe. It’s a song that celebrates female sexuality like no other. When Chrissy developed breast cancer, it was a song she wanted to become an anthem for spreading awareness about the importance of touching ourselves for early detection of the disease.

The I Touch Myself Project was launched on the first anniversary of Chrissy’s passing on 21 April 2013. The project was a collaboration between creative agency J Walter Thompson Sydney and Chrissy’s husband, musician Charley Drayton.
"Chrissy voiced it clearly – she wished for all women to be mindful of themselves when they heard the tune; to be good to themselves, listen to your instincts and feel what is going on inside you.
- Charley Drayton

Joining forces to help launch The Chrissy Bra range are famous Aussie artists who have all been touched by breast cancer in some way.
This year’s campaign features another star-studded list of female artists including Catherine Britt, Liz Drummond, Hannah Field, and Anna Hamilton of Little May, Virginia Lillye, Abbe May, Montainge, Ngaiire and Katy Steele. Photographed by legendary rock photographer, Tony Mott.

January Rising | Transgender Surgery Fundraiser
With a contribution of $25.00, you may receive a limited edition OCC Makeup Lip Tar, January Rising, created *exclusively* for this campaign, for all of your help.
"Three years ago I decided to throw caution to the wind and embrace an identity that felt inherent, albeit deeply repressed. As an individual who was coercively assigned male at birth, identifying as female from an early age felt deeply shameful, frightening, and at times ridiculuous. Without the language or the backbone of a community to support me, it was easy to be led astray by the narrow two-gender system presented by society. Unfortunately, this is not unique to my experience.
I decided the only way to move forward with my life was to stop ignoring the elephant in every space I set foot in, and begin my transition rites."
- On January 15th, 2010, I began hormone replacement therapy as monitored by my primary care physician and the informed consent model of handling differently gendered individuals.
- On January 1st, 2011, I came out publicly as a trans woman and began the process of having people call me by my chosen name (which I then changed legally at a later time).
- On January 15th, 2011, I had an event at my house called "January Rising". It was the first time my friends and I got to share space without the facade of a feigned identity separating us.
Why Fundraise, Why Not Insurance?
"Now, after three years after beginning hormone replacement therapy, and after two years of passing through the world as January Hunt, I have come to a halting stop, realizing the remaining steps towards overcoming are perhaps the biggest, most expensive, and invasive of all. Surgery is not for everyone, and certainly not for every person of transgender or transsexual experience, but for me it is necessary for my health - mental and emotional. "
"The medical industry/industrial complex has effectively kept transgender people from accessing their bodies for many years, partially through bureaucratic procedural hurdles, and partly through general ignorance of trans experiences. Because of that, the medical industry insists on labelling gender confirming/affirming surgeries as cosmetic rather than medically necessary. The ripple effect is that most private and public health insurance organizations do not cover surgeries for transgender people, even if deemed medically necessary by a physician or therapist. The problem with this is evident, and there are statistics to prove that for many people, medical and surgical transition, is necessary to their survival.
Left with few other options and a stubborn drive, I decided to develop a fundraising campaign and make the next step towards hope public."
January has reached $9,376 of her $30,000 goal. Only 28 days to go!

Bona Drag X In God We Trust | Keep a Breast Collaboration
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Bona Drag is partaking in the cause this year. In efforts to support the awareness of breast cancer in young women, we are so happy to announce our first charitable collaboration with our amazing friends at The Keep A Breast Foundation™. For the collaboration, we worked with In God We Trust NYC to make a custom necklace just for the cause. 100% of our profits will be donated to Keep A Breast.
The necklaces are retailing for $50 and the profits made on them would go to Keep A Breast. We hung a brass heart, engraved with the word "boobs", upside-down on a brass chain to resemble the shape of boobs. Included in the purchase of the necklace, the customer will also receive information on how they can help support Keep A Breast directly.
The Keep A Breast Foundation™ is “the leading youth-focused, global, nonprofit breast cancer organization. Our mission is to eradicate breast cancer for future generations. We provide support programs for young people impacted by cancer and educate people about prevention, early detection, and cancer-causing toxins in our everyday environment.”
