Creation emerges from destruction, from shattering old ways of thinking and soaring into new possibilities. With RESTLESS, Bramble Lee Pryde, the metalsmith behind Wolf + Sadie, and Lakshmi Ramgopal, the musician known as Lykanthea, confront their movement between these opposing forces. Through conversation and handwritten letters, Pryde and Ramgopal found they were both emerging from periods of personal loss that were driving them, inexorably, toward reinvention: for Pryde, a bright, dreamy collection that contrasted with earlier, darker themed designs; for Ramgopal, the task of bringing new songs to life. Photographed in Austria by Krist Mort and bathed in filaments of light, RESTLESS captures Ramgopal on tour wearing designs from Pryde’s collections, embodying tranquility and unease in equal measure.
