What attracted you to tattooing?
I was attending an Art School in the South of Spain. At this time I found tattooing an interesting art form to pursue. It was also an avenue to travel and meet other artists from around the world.
How did you get into the industry?
I started getting tattooed at the age of 14 and I spent many years buying magazines, books, etc...
After that time I bought my first tattooing equipment with the help of a tattooist friend in Barcelona.
Was it hard to find an apprenticeship?
It was difficult at first in the South of Spain. I was learning a lot by myself and tattooing my friends. I was travelling to different cities, visiting tattoo shops and getting tattooed myself to help my understanding.
How many years have you been tattooing?
13 years now since I did my first tattoo on myself.
What inspires you?
Anything geometric. From one doughnut to any architectural design.
Who are your favourite tattoo artists?
That is a difficult question to answer as there are so many. I enjoy work from Japanese to traditional and geometric work the most. I appreciate a lot of artist's work.
How would you describe your tattoo style?
It ranges from geometric, dot, black and pattern work. I also enjoy sacred, Buddhist elements and Japanese design. I also enjoy to mix elements with traditional tattoo styles.
What have you learned in your years in the industry?
I have learned that to develop over time requires dedication and practice. Not only in tattooing but also in design. The art form is one where you never stop learning.
What advice do you have to people considering careers in tattooing?
Tattooing is a big commitment that requires a good work technique. A good apprenticeship and teacher is essential.
What are some of the best things you have experienced as a result of your career?
Traveling, meeting and working with interesting people. I learned that to develop over time requires dedication is one where you never stop learning.
